The Sun Still Shines Even When Your Eyes are Closed

Happy Self-Love Sunday. I wrote this post over a year ago but I thought it was a good time to share it. I often have to remind myself of how far I’ve come. Re-reading this post made me realize that I made a lot of mental and emotional progress towards the end of the summer. So I wanted to share this as a reminder to myself and those of you reading that journaling your progress can assist in your growth greatly. I like journaling because I like looking back and seeing how my perspective changed and admiring my progress.

It’s 3am in South Africa and I wasn’t going to post for this Self-Love Sunday because today has been so busy and I wasn’t able to finish editing the post I wanted to publish today but a good friend of mine told me to “post as though I have a million followers”. So Happy Self-Love Sunday. The sun still shines even when your eyes are closed. The sun still shines even when we are thousands of miles away. No matter what you’re going through, we look at the same moon every night, we feel the warmth of the same sun every day. This post is just a reminder that you’re not alone even when you feel as though you are. There are many times when I isolate myself because I need to regain my strength and my energy as well as express myself creatively. And sometimes that isolation can leave me feeling like I have no one to turn to.

Today, this post is just your reminder to those who may feel alone or are physically alone that the sun still shines even when your eyes are closed. There are people who support you even when you feel that you’re all by yourself. Being in South Africa gave me an opportunity to sit with myself and answer the questions I felt too Heavy to address. It’s unfortunate that it took traveling for 3 days on 3 different flights for me to take a step back and breathe but I’m here now. I’m looking at who I am and what I have to offer the world and I’m praying for direction.
