Metamorphosis

Today I am 24

And I was going to write a long post about all I’ve learned, who I am and how grateful I am for this journey but instead I will share this poem:

She is more chaos than calm

She is more dysfunction than discipline

But she has no fear because this is what the journey asks of her.

She asked, ‘who am I?” and the journey showed her how to shed

She asked, “what does this world need from me” and the journey taught her to release

Each day, she is releasing old bits of herself that no longer have a home in her life.

Each day, she is shedding the extra weight that she cannot carry on this journey.

She is heavy and overwhelmed.

She is light and free.

Each day feels like war

Because she is shedding and becoming.

Yet, through the chaos, she is grateful

For this sacred metamorphosis
