2024 Reading Challenge: November

Howdy!!!

Welcome back to the happiest place on Earth, The Introvert’s Escape Maneuver. I’m so glad you’re here!

In the lovely and warm month of November, I read 6 books. If you’re not new to this space and have read some of my reading summary posts before, you may know that I absolutely love fantasy books and Sarah J Maas is one of my favorite fantasy authors. I actually read the Throne of Glass Series twice this year. It’s one of my all-time favorite fantasy series and is probably becoming a staple in my yearly reading journey, the way the Harry Potter Series used to be. I’ve read the Harry Potter series, no less than 10 times from start to finish and have likely read the first book in that series over 25 times.

Let’s get into the books I read in November (when it was still warm, and the sun didn’t set at 4:00pm *I can literally feel my seasonal depression LOADING at this very moment*). I read four books in the Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas.

I read:

Heir of Fire (book 3 in the series), The Assassins Blade (the prequel) & Queen of Shadows (book 4 in the series) and I completely recommend reading the books in that order. Throwing the prequel in the middle of books 3 and 4 was a fantastic recommendation I found from some genius online (I did the research like a year ago, sorry I wish I could tell you exactly who recommended this reading order). All 3 of these books received a 5-star rating from me.

Then my Libby notifications went off to inform me that two books I’ve been on the waiting list for were available to rent. The last two books I read in November were also fantasies. I read Five Broken Blades by Mai Corland and The Ministry of Time by Kalaine Bradley. Five Broken Blades received a 4.74-star rating from me, which in hindsight feels oddly specific, and The Ministry of Time received a 4-star rating from me, I felt it was rather slow in the middle, but the ending was beautiful.

This seasonal depression has me in a chokehold already but let’s see if spicy ramen and cozy gaming can fix that!

If you’re reading this, I wish you the best, keep showing up for yourself and growing into the beautiful human you were made to be.

xoxo
